January 2010

Jeffrey A. Rizika settled a case for a 38-year-old married man who was struck by an automobile while riding a bicycle. The man sustained injuries consisting of a compound fracture of his right elbow, a fracture of his hip, fractured ribs as well as various other injuries to other parts of his body. Surgery was performed on his right elbow, which necessitated hardware. The case was resolved for $100,000, which was the maximum amount available from the drivers insurance policy. Given the limited nature of the insurance coverage, the case settled without the necessity of a lawsuit.
