Jeffrey A. Rizika resolved a motor vehicle accident claim on behalf of a 49 year old married father, who was violently struck from behind by another vehicle while traveling on a busy highway, causing the vehicle to veer off the road after impact. As a result thereof, the client sustained substantial injuries to his neck, which resulted in two spinal surgeries to remove herniated discs and fuse three vertebrae together in his spine where the discs were removed. Despite the fact that the client had an extensive prior history of neck problems, Mr. Rizika was able to settle the case on the eve of trial against the other driver for $95,000 of the $100,000 available under their auto policy, as well as for an additional $150,000 in underinsured motorist benefits from the client’s auto insurance carrier, which was the maximum amount available, for a total of $245,000.
