Following the accident March 3, 2020, which caused significant damage to his car, our client sought immediate care with a chiropractor, who sent him for MRI studies of the neck and back. His cervical spine study was positive for a focal acute central and left-sided C5-6 disc herniation with stenosis, a C6-7 focal acute central disc herniation with impingement of the nerve roots and stenosis, and cervical spasm. His lumbar spine study was positive for a focal acute central and left-sided L5-S1 disc herniation with impingement of the nerve roots on the left and centrally, and stenosis at the L3-4 and L4-5 levels relating to disc bulging and related pathology. His resultant nerve damage was further confirmed by electromyography (EMG), and necessitated multiple epidural steroid injections to the neck and back. As a result, on September 29, 2020, our client underwent a percutaneous disc decompression at C5-6 with fluoroscopic guidance. He is likely to require a back surgery, as well, to address his ongoing pain and symptoms.
