Mr. Stevens is also engaged to mediate employment discrimination cases by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as part of one of the most successful mediation programs in the United States. Ira M. Starr is frequently selected as an arbitrator by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and has served as the chairperson of many FINRA and NASD arbitration panels in the New York metropolitan area and throughout the country. Ronald L. SGD&R attorneys also represent our clients in a full range of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) matters. We encourage the use of ADR where we consider ADR suitable in order to produce the best result at the least cost to our clients. We are experienced in the representation of clients in all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and pre-suit negotiation, in a variety of forums, including the federal and state courts, the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which now encompasses the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (NJDCR).
Mr. Stevens and Mr. Lerner are members of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), where Mr. Stevens serves as a Board Member. Both are Mediator Mentors appointed by the New Jersey Superior Court to assist new mediators in becoming qualified to become NJ mediators and frequently lecture on ADR matters.
Our considerable experience in conducting ADR sessions as arbitrators and mediators gives us invaluable insights into the process, enabling us to better represent our clients in arbitrations and mediations.
