Starr Gern handles all workers' compensation and work-related injuries from their inception. We assist our clients in obtaining medical care and temporary disability benefits for lost time, through the workers'
compensation insurance carrier or other responsible party. We follow all work-related injuries through the client's course of treatment and recovery, and file formal claim petitions with the Division of Workers Compensation at the appropriate stage of each case. The firm regularly handles numerous workers' compensation injury claims, and has assisted its clients in seeking partial permanent disability and total disability, as the case may be, in each instance. Of course, these cases are handled on a contingent fee basis, and clients are not expected to pay any attorneys fees or expenses except from the ultimate recovery.
Furthermore, in many instances, workers' compensation claims also involve a third party who is responsible for the work-related injury. In those instances, we also handle the third party litigation on behalf of the worker, and seek recovery not only from the workers' compensation insurance company for the employer, but also from the negligent or otherwise responsible third party. This often requires additional litigation and is also handled on a contingent fee basis.
